    <content type="html">&lt;p&gt;Today I took the plunge. I no longer have a landline phone, only cell phone and &lt;a href="http://www.skype.com"&gt;Skype&lt;/a&gt;. I got non-ADSL broadband &lt;a href="http://andthennothing.net/archives/2004/12/22/connected"&gt;five months ago&lt;/a&gt; and should really have cancelled my landline back then, but it&amp;#8217;s a bit scary and time flies. No more $200 per year that is of no use.&lt;/p&gt;


	&lt;p&gt;The cancellation process was incredibly smooth: call customer service, queue for 10 minutes, tell the phone number and name and when it should stop working, and that&amp;#8217;s it. Quite far from the proccess Russell Beattie had to go through in order to &lt;a href="http://www.russellbeattie.com/notebook/1008473.html"&gt;recharge a pre-paid account&lt;/a&gt;, and to cancel a landline phone seems like it&amp;#8217;s supposed to be a bit harder.&lt;/p&gt;</content>
